Ingredients you’ll need to make air fryer buffalo tofu salad
- Mixed greens, they are the base of this salad
- Firm tofu, 1/2 block
- Tapioca flour is used to coat the tofu and create a crispy layer
- Hot sauce, duh! Use your favorite hot sauce of choice. I love Franks!
- Veggies: carrots, celery, cucumbers, onion
- Ranch dressing, store bought or my homemade ranch dressing (recipe below!)
How to make this delicious air fryer tofu salad
- Firstly, make the dressing and chill it in the fridge. Or use store bought ranch.
- Secondly, chop the tofu into slices, coat in tapioca flour and hot sauce and air fry for 12-15 minutes!
- Pick your favorite mixed greens.
- Thirdly, chop up onion, carrots, celery and cucumber
- Lastly, build your salad and top with extra hot sauce and ranch. Enjoy!
Gluten free and low carb salad substitutions
What I love about salads is that they can be so versatile. There are endless options when it comes to salads, especially this one!
If you don’t like celery or cucumber? Sub in avocado!
If you aren’t a huge fan of ranch dressing, sub in your favorite vinaigrette!
Don’t love love tofu? Sub in chicken! If you use chicken, make sure you cook it properly in the air fryer.
How to make homemade dairy free ranch dressing
Please don’t be intimidated by homemade dressing! This dressing is so easy to make. This dairy free ranch takes under 5 minutes to whip up. All you have to do is mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl and chill it in the fridge until you’re ready to use.
- 1/2 cup mayo of choice (I like primal kitchen brand)
- 1/4 cup canned coconut milk (stirred)
- 1/2 tsp salt, onion powder, garlic powder, dried dill, dried chives, paprika, hot sauce
Store leftover dressing in an airtight container in the fridge.

The Best Crispy Buffalo Tofu Salad (with homemade ranch)
Ingredients
- 6 cups mixed greens of choice
- 1/2 block of firm tofu
- 2 tbsp tapioca flour
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- 1/2 medium cucumber
- 2 stalks celery chopped
- 1 large carrot chopped
- ¼ cup onion chopped, red or yellow
- 2 tbsp ranch dressing
Homemade ranch
- 1/2 cup mayo of choice, 1/4 cup canned coconut milk, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp dill, 1/2 tsp dried chives, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp hot sauce
Instructions
- First, you'll want to make your crispy tofu. Chop the tofu into slices and place it in a medium bowl. Add in the tapioca flour and make sure the tofu is coated. Then add in the hot sauce to coat.
- Spray your air fryer with cooking spray and add the tofu in an even layer. Air fry at 400 degrees for 8 minutes. Flip and air fry for another 8 minutes.
- Meanwhile, pick your favorite mixed greens and fill two bowls.
- Chop up some onion, carrots, celery and cucumber. Add the veggies into the bowl with the mixed greens.
- Now add in the tofu and top it with homemade ranch and more hot sauce.
- Enjoy!

- All you have to do is mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl and chill it in the fridge until ready to use.
- Use your favorite mayo (I like using primal kitchen brand) and make sure your canned coconut milk is stirred well before mixing it in.
