Ingredients needed for healthy peanut butter crunch bars
You only need these 6 ingredients to whip up these delicious crunch bars.
- First up, rice krispie cereal, or other rice cereal of choice
- We will use natural creamy peanut butter. Make sure you give your peanut butter a good stir before measuring as natural nut butters tend to be very oily
- Next up is coconut oil. Refined coconut oil is best in this recipe as it is neutral in taste and smell
- And for the natural sweetener we will be using honey, or pure maple syrup works too!
- Vanilla extract helps enhance the flavors of these crunch bars
- Lastly, chocolate chips are used for the top, dairy free and regular both work
Why these vegan crunch bars are the best
These tasty candy bars have become one of my favorite desserts and afternoon treats!
- They don’t require any baking in the oven. These homemade crunch bars don’t require any baking time, which is one of the many reasons why I love making them in the summer. The last thing I want to do is heat up my oven on a super hot day! They just require 1-2 hours of chill time in the fridge
- They only require 6 ingredients! As mentioned above, these bars only require 6 ingredients that you probably already have on hand.
- No added processed sugar! These bars don’t require any processed sugar, just honey or pure maple syrup.
How to store these healthy peanut butter crunch bars
After you let the bars chill, slice them into squares. They can be stored in the fridge for 4-5 days or in freezer for 3 months. I prefer storing my bars in the freezer as they are slightly hard but thaw out as you eat them (personally my favorite way to enjoy them)!
I hope you love these delicious, easy and crunchy bars as much as I do!
