Ingredients in chocolate coconut overnight oats
Oats are the main ingredient. For this recipe you will need 1/2 cup. Feel free to use whole rolled oats, gluten free oats, or quick oats. Just make sure to use 1/2 cup!
Cocoa powder for rich chocolate flavor. For this recipe you will need 1 tablespoon. Cocoa powder can be very bitter in flavor so we will be adding a little sweetness to cut the bitterness.
Next up, milk! This recipe calls for 1/2 cup of milk. You can use cows milk, almond milk, or any dairy free milk of your choice.
A splash of coconut milk for coconut flavor. You only need 2 tablespoons of coconut milk for this recipe.
Maple syrup for added all natural sweetness. Pure maple syrup adds sweetness and pairs nicely with the cocoa powder to give a rich chocolate flavor.
Chia seeds add texture and nutrition. When chia seeds are soaked in liquid they create a gel-like texture!
Lastly, toppings! Toppings are always a must when it comes to oatmeal. Here are a few favorites: shredded coconut, chocolate chips, fresh berries, banana, nuts and seeds.
