Peanut butter and chocolate… does it get any better? Peanut butter chocolate brownies have a fudgy brownie layer and are topped with peanut butter cookie. They are naturally gluten free as they are made from a mixture of almond flour, coconut flour and chocolate.
Ingredients needed to make peanut butter chocolate brownies
- Chocolate chips give the brownies a moist chocolate flavor
- Coconut oil will help melt the chocolate chips
- Almond flour is the main flour used in the brownie layer
- A tablespoon of coconut flour will help bulk up the brownies
- Salt helps enhance the flavor
- Baking soda helps puff up these brownies and add structure
- For the brownie layer we will need 2 eggs and 1 egg for the peanut butter layer
- Coconut sugar adds the perfect sweetness
- Natural creamy peanut butter works best for this recipe.
- Vanilla extract helps enhance the flavor of the peanut butter cookie
These gluten free brownies are an all time favorite
These brownies are perfectly chocolatey and fudgy and topped with a chewy peanut butter cookie. They are seriously an all time favorite and a total crowd pleaser.
For the brownie layer I used a mixture of almond flour, chocolate chips and coconut oil to create perfectly fudgy, chewy and sweet brownies!
The peanut butter cookie topping is so easy to make because it only requires 4 ingredients: peanut butter (duh!), coconut sugar, egg and vanilla. That’s it!
How to make perfect peanut butter brownies
- Firstly, start off by melting the chocolate chips and coconut oil in the microwave.
- Next, use creamy peanut butter! Chunky peanut butter with mess with the texture of these brownies.
- In addition, sprinkle some chocolate chips on top of the brownies before adding the next layer!
- Then, flatten the peanut butter cookie in an even layer on top of the brownies.
- Finally, let the brownies cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing and slicing.

Ingredients
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- ½ cup almond flour
- 1 tbsp coconut flour
- ¼ salt salt
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup coconut sugar
Peanut butter cookie
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup coconut sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8×8 pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a microwave safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in increments of 20 seconds, stirring each time until fully melted. Let it cool for a few minutes while you gather your other ingredients.
- Once the melted chocolate mixture has cooled slightly, whisk in the eggs and coconut sugar. Then fold in the almond flour, coconut flour, salt and baking soda. Mix until combined. Pour the batter into the prepared 8×8 pan.
- Now make the peanut butter cookie. Using a hand mixer, cream together the peanut butter, coconut sugar, egg and vanilla until fully combined.
- Using a spoon, scoop the peanut butter batter and add it in an even layer over the brownie batter. You can use your hands to flatten the peanut butter cookie so it creates an even layer on top of the brownie batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Let it cool, slice and enjoy!
