You can also use melted butter or any other neutral oil of your choice. </li></ul>

<ul class="has-large-font-size wp-block-list"><li>Pumpkin cupcakes are made with <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Diamond-Almond-Gluten-Blanched/dp/B07L9Q45HG/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&amp;keywords=almond+flour&amp;qid=1629937948&amp;s=grocery&amp;sr=1-4"><strong>almond flour</strong></a> which is lower in carb and higher in fat content than traditional flour. But it also has many other nutrients like healthy fats, vitamin E, and magnesium!</li></ul>



<ul class="has-large-font-size wp-block-list"><li><strong>Coconut sugar</strong> and <strong>maple syrup</strong> are both adding natural, unrefined sweetness in this recipe. Make sure to use pure maple syrup and not pancake syrup.  </li></ul>

It can replace oils like canola and vegetable oil. </li></ul>

<p class="has-large-font-size">Once you have frosted the cupcakes, store them in an airtight container in the fridge. They are best served straight out of the fridge. </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size">These pumpkin cupcakes are great to freeze, too. First, freeze them in a flat layer individually. I like to use my baking sheet or a large container. When they are frozen, you can place them in a freezer friendly bag. To enjoy these cupcakes out of the freezer, simply let them defrost at room temperature or defrost them in the microwave. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Substitutes</h2>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Coconut sugar</strong> or <strong>brown sugar</strong>. Coconut sugar is the main sweetener! However, you can also use brown sugar. </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Almond milk</strong> or <strong>cows milk</strong>. This recipe calls for 1/4 cup of almond milk but you can also use cows milk or any other dairy free milk of your choice. </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Cinnamon</strong> and <strong>pumpkin pie spice</strong>. These cupcakes are loaded with fall flavor. If you love all the fall spices you can add 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg or allspice.  </p>
