How to make this easy and healthy pasta recipe
Firstly, boil the pasta in a large pot of salted water. Cook according to the package. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Set aside.
Secondly, in a large pan, cook the bacon until crispy. Once cooked, remove the bacon from the pan and put it on a plate lined with a paper towel.
Leave about a tablespoon or two of bacon grease to cook the beef. Now add in the ground beef and onions. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through. Add in the garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Now stir in the ketchup, mustard and mayo until combined. Then stir in the nutritional yeast and pasta water. If you are adding spinach, stir that in now too!
Finally, stir in the cooked pasta and enjoy!
Ingredient substitutes for this recipe
- Any pasta will work in this recipe! I love using protein pasta shells for added protein. To make this gluten free, use gluten free pasta.
- If you aren’t a fan of beef, feel free to use ground turkey or ground pork.
- Regular mayo or avocado oil mayo will both work in this recipe.
- You can substitute regular pepper for ground white pepper. But I find that ground white pepper really enhances the flavor!
- Feel free to omit the spinach.
