The best peanut butter and jelly granola is loaded with oats, chex, peanuts, raisins and dried cranberries. This recipe is a fun twist on traditional granola and you only need a handful of ingredients to whip it up!
Delicious, snacking granola is only a few ingredients away
You need the ingredients below to make this peanut butter and jelly granola
- Corn chex: For this recipe you can use any chex cereal you like. I used corn chex! Rice chex are a great option as well.
- Rolled oats: You will need 2 cups of whole oats. Oats are a great source of whole grains and fiber.
- Peanuts: Peanuts add the perfect crunch in this granola. I use roasted and salted peanuts but you can use any peanuts you like!
- Raisins and dried cranberries: This recipe calls for a combination of raisins and dried cranberries. You can use both or one or the other. Just use a total of 1 1/2 cups.
- Flax seed meal: Adding flax seed meal to granola is always a great idea. It is neutral in taste and adds great nutritional value.
- Coconut sugar: Coconut sugar adds the perfect sweetness. It also helps create a crunchy texture. You can also use brown sugar.
- Creamy peanut butter: Creamy peanut butter is a must! For this recipe you’ll use 3/4 cup of natural creamy peanut butter. Make sure you give your peanut butter a good stir before measuring because natural peanut butter tends to be very oily.
- Coconut oil, butter, or neutral oil. For this recipe I like using butter, oil or refined coconut oil. Refined coconut oil is neutral in flavor so it doesn’t give this granola a coconut flavor. You can also use melted butter, ghee, canola oil or avocado oil.
- Pure maple syrup: Maple syrup is a great all natural sweeter that gives this granola a perfect sweet flavor. You can also use honey!
- Jelly: Optional but it is a great addition along with the raisins and dried cranberries.
- Vanilla extract and salt: Both vanilla and salt help enhance the flavors in this granola!
Frequently asked questions
Can I use other chex cereal?
Yes! While this recipe calls for corn chex feel free to use another cereal you like. Rice chex are another great option! You could also use another corn based cereal.
Can I omit the jelly?
Yes, the jelly adds additional sweetness and flavor but you can omit it from this recipe.
What type of peanut butter can I use?
I recommend using a natural creamy peanut butter for this recipe. Natural peanut butter is typically made with one or two ingredients: peanuts and salt. Other peanut butters can have added ingredients and preservatives.
What type of jelly can I use?
I recommend using a natural jelly with minimal ingredients. A jelly should be made of fruit and sugar. Try to avoid jellies that have high fructose corn syrup.
