Tips and tricks for Applesauce chocolate chip cookies
The combination of almond flour and oat flour makes the perfect pillowy cookies. Here are a few tips and tricks to make the best cookies.
- Firstly, combine the wet and dry ingredients separately. This will prevent over mixing!
- Secondly, make sure to use finely ground oat flour. You can use store bought oat flour or homemade oat flour. Make your own oat flour by blending whole oats in a high speed blender until very fine.
- Lastly, use unsweetened applesauce! Applesauce is the secret ingredients in these cookies. Applesauce adds moisture which allows for soft cookies. (You can also use melted refined coconut oil or butter if you prefer)
How to store these easy vegan cookies
Once the cookies have fully cooled, store them in an air tight container in the fridge for a week. You can also store them in the freezer for up to 3 months. If you store them in the freezer, let the cookies thaw at room temperature and then enjoy! I love storing my baked goods in the freezer. Not only do they last much longer but they also allow us to always have yummy treats on hand to offer family and friends.
