Ingredients

Ground Turkey Mixture

  • 1 ½ pounds ground turkey
  • ½ medium yellow onion
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp EACH: oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper

Remaining Chili Ingredients

  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 3 large carrots peeled and diced
  • 1 sweet potato peeled and diced
  • 1 5oz can diced green chilis
  • 2 15oz can diced tomato
  • 2 15oz can tomato sauce

Instructions

  • Sauté the ground turkey with onion and seasonings until browned and cooked through about 7-10 minutes.
  • Add the turkey mixture to the bottom of the crock pot and add in the remaining chili ingredients: chopped peppers, carrots, sweet potato, canned green chilis, diced tomato, and tomato sauce. Stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
  • Cook the chili on high for 4-5 hours or low for 8 hours.
  • Top with cheese and sour cream (if you'd like) and enjoy!
