Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 ⅓ pound ground turkey I use 93/7 lean
  • ¼ cup almond flour
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese finely chopped or grated
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp crushed pepper flakes optional
  • 1 24oz jar pasta sauce I like raos and victorias sauce

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine all your meatball ingredients besides the sauce: turkey, almond flour, cheese, egg and seasonings. Gently mix everything together and form into 15 meatballs.
  • In a large pan over medium heat, add 1 tbsp olive oil or spray it with cooking spray. Add your meatballs, make sure they have enough room to cook and brown evenly. Use tongs to continuously flip the meatballs until they are fully browned. About 5-6 minutes.
  • Add in a 24oz jar of pasta sauce. Now add a lid to the pan. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes or until fully cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees.
  • Serve and enjoy! The meatballs go great with pasta, spaghetti squash, zucchini noodles, spinach, cauliflower rice or even a sweet potato!
