Ingredients in chocolate oat flour pancakes
These oat flour pancakes require 8 ingredients.
Oat flour is such a fun flour to bake with! It is a great flour alternative as it is loaded with whole grains and fiber. For this recipe we will be using 3/4 cup.
Cocoa powder adds the rich chocolate flavor. We will be using 1/4 cup.
Baking soda helps puff up these pancakes. We will be using 1/2 teaspoon.
One egg binds all the ingredients together. It also helps add structure so the pancakes don’t crumble.
Milk adds moisture! You can use any milk of your choice. Almond milk, cows milk, oat milk or any dairy free milk of your choice will work.
Oil adds texture and moisture. Light olive oil, refined coconut oil, or canola oil are all great options. If you don’t want to use oil, you can also use melted butter.
Add a splash of maple syrup for all natural sweetness. Make sure to use pure maple syrup! Also, you can also use honey instead.
Lastly, vanilla extract enhances all the flavors.

Pancake variations
Pure maple syrup, of course! A classic with pancakes is maple syrup. Pure maple syrup is a great option because it doesn’t have any added preservatives or chemicals.
Add chocolate chips for extra chocolate flavor. Milk chocolate, semi sweet, or dark chocolate are all great options.
Freshly sliced bananas pair perfectly with pancakes. Bananas are a great source of potassium, nutrients, and antioxidants.
Fresh fruit like strawberries, blueberries and raspberries make a perfect topping choice for pancakes. They add flavor and nutrients!
Lastly, add a drizzle of creamy nut butter like peanut butter or almond butter.
How to store
If you have left over pancakes, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days. There are a few ways you can reheat these pancakes.
In the microwave. Simply reheat the pancakes in the microwave until warmed to your liking.
Add them back on the stove. If you are going to heat the pancakes back up on the stove, I recommend microwaving them for about 20 seconds first to warm up the middles.
In the toaster. For extra crispy pancakes, add them in the toaster like a slice of toast!
