Rich and chocolatey gluten free donut holes
When we were younger, my sister and I always loved to try different donut recipes. One time we even made Boston Creme donuts for my Nanny because they were her absolute favorite. I have to note that they came out amazing, from the creme center to the chocolate glaze. I think we actually shocked ourselves at how well they came out LOL.
Enough about Boston Creme donuts, let’s talk about these chocolate bites of goodness. These donut holes are irresistible! You can just pop them right in your mouth. They are so cute, bite sized and easy to make. If you want an easy and healthier donut recipe, this one is for you!
The main flour used in this recipe is oat flour. Make sure to use finely ground oat flour, I love buying mine on Amazon! If you are going to make your own oat flour by blending oats, make sure you blend them until very smooth and fine. Using oat flour results in soft and fluffy treats which is why it is perfect to use for these donuts.
How to store baked chocolate donut holes
These donuts store well in the freezer so you can store half the batch for a later date! Once the donut holes have fully cooled, store them in an airtight container!
I like storing my baked goods in the fridge on the freezer inside an air tight container. Store them in the freezer for up to 3 months and you can defrost them at room temperature for 30 minutes or simply defrost them in the microwave. You can also store the donut holes in the fridge for up to a week.
