- Milk, warmed so the butter won’t solidify
- Butter, melted
- Maple syrup adds an all natural sweetness

Whisk the the wet ingredients. In a medium bowl whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, maple syrup and vanilla.
Mix in the dry ingredients. Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt with a spoon or spatula.
Preheat the waffle iron. Let the batter sit while you preheat your waffle iron.
Scoop half batter into the preheated waffle iron. This recipe makes 2 large waffles.

Healthier Waffle Recipe (White Whole Wheat Flour)
Ingredients
- 1 egg room temperature so the butter won't solidify
- 1 cup milk warmed or room temperature so the butter won't solidify
- ¼ cup butter OR avocado oil melted
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup + 2 tbsp white whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ⅛ tsp salt
Instructions
- Start off by whisking the the wet ingredients. In a medium bowl whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, maple syrup and vanilla. (To bring the egg to room temperature, set it in a bowl of warm water for 10 minutes)
- Now mix in the dry ingredients. Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt with a spoon or spatula.
- Preheat your waffle iron. Let the batter sit while you preheat your waffle iron.
- Scoop half batter into the preheated waffle iron. Let it cook. Repeat the same process with the second waffle. This recipe makes 2 large waffles.
- Lastly, add desired toppings. Top each waffle with toppings of choice and enjoy!
