Ingredients in this recipe
Here are the ingredients we are working with:
Ground turkey is the main protein source. I recommend using 93/7 lean turkey as it provides the best texture and juiciness.
Seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
Bread crumbs act as a binding agent and help bring all the ingredients together.
An egg works to bind the ingredients together just like the bread crumbs.
Jalapeños for added flavor and spice! They are a key ingredient in this recipe.
Cream cheese adds creaminess and flavor. Cream cheese is a main ingredient in jalapeño popper dip and we will be using 2-4 tbsp of cream cheese in the burgers.
Cheddar cheese in a burger… yes please! We will be adding 1/2 cup of freshly shredded cheese.
And to finish things off, bacon! Bacon is the last ingredient in popper dip. We will be added 4 cooked slices.

Tips and tricks
Follow these tips and tricks to ensure you make the best turkey burgers!
Firstly, gently mix the ingredients together. When you are combining all the ingredients, gently mix until everything is combined. Don’t over mix!
Secondly, finely chop the jalapeños. Finely chopping the jalapeños allows them to combine nicely with the rest of ingredients. This way you won’t have any big chunks in your burgers.
Thirdly, make sure the cream cheese is softened. You want the cream cheese to mix evenly into the batter. It it’s too cold it can be difficult to mix in.
Make sure you use a large pan! You want to use a pan that is big enough for 5 burgers so they cook evenly. You also want to carefully flip the burgers so you’ll need some room in the pan to do so.
Finally, cook the burgers until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Make sure you cook your burgers all the way through. Ground turkey should reach 165 degrees. It took me about 4-5 minutes of cooking on each side.
How to serve
Jalapeño popper burgers pair nicely with a side green salad! For some salad inspiration give this easy summer salad recipe a try.
For a chilled side option make some pasta salad!
Roast your favorite veggies! Toss some cauliflower and broccoli with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and roast is at 400 for 30 minutes.
Slice up some fresh fruit like strawberries, cantaloupe and watermelon.
How to store
To prepare these burgers ahead of time, combine all the ingredients together and form the mixture into five patties. Store the raw patties in a container or on a plate wrapped in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for one day.
If you have left over burgers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days. To reheat the burgers, simply heat them back up in the microwave for a minute or two. You can also heat them back up on the stove! To heat them back up on the stove, microwave for 30 seconds and then all them on the stove over medium heat to crisp up the outsides.
