<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Baked donut recipe ingredients </h2>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph">We are using a few simple ingredients to make these oven baked donuts.</p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Oat flour</strong>, the main ingredient! This recipe uses fine oat flour as it results in really fluffy and soft baked goods. Use a store bought fine oat flour. Or make your own! I have outlined instructions on how to make your own below.</p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Baking powder</strong> is the leavening agent used to puff up these donuts.</p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph">Just a pinch of <strong>salt</strong> helps enhance all the flavors. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph">One <strong>egg</strong> helps bind all the ingredients together! Bring the egg to room temperature if you can. To bring an egg to room temperature quickly, simply let it sit in a small bowl of warm water while you gather all your other ingredients.</p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Milk</strong> adds moisture. Feel free to use almond milk, cows milk or oat milk. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Light oil</strong> or <strong>melted</strong> <strong>butter</strong> can be used as the baking fat. If you&#8217;re using butter make sure your other ingredients are at room temperature so the butter does not solidify. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph">A bit of <strong>sugar</strong> to sweeten things up! Feel free to use white sugar or coconut sugar. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph">Lastly, two splashes of <strong>vanilla extract</strong> to enhance all the flavors. </p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Baking with oat flour</h2>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph">Baking with oat flour is very simple. It replaces regular flour in baked goods. However, it is not a 1:1 replacement as oat flour is much lighter in weight than traditional flour. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph">As for the baking results with oat flour, it produces really soft and fluffy baked goods. That&#8217;s why it is great for baking. It also has great health benefits which makes it a healthier alternative to regular flour. Oats are loaded with whole grains, fiber and complex carbs!</p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to make oat flour</h2>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph">If you want to make your own oat flour, it&#8217;s super easy to make! Go ahead and grab your high speed blender and your oats. </p>

<ul class="has-large-font-size wp-block-list"><li><strong>Add the oats to the blender</strong></li><li><strong>Pulse and blend the oats in your blender.</strong></li><li><strong>Continue to blend until the oats form into a fine, flour like powder. </strong></li><li><strong>Store the homemade oat flour in an air tight container until you&#8217;re ready to bake.</strong></li></ul>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Firstly, preheat your oven to 425 degrees.</strong> Grease your 6 tin donut pan really well. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>In a medium bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients:</strong> <em>egg, milk, sugar, oil and vanilla.</em> Whisk until smooth and combined. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Bake! </strong>Bake donuts at 425 degrees for 5 min, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake for another 6 minutes. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Let the donuts cool in the pan. </strong>This step is key! Make sure you let the donuts cool for about 10-15 minutes before removing them from the pan. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Ice and enjoy.</strong> Dip the top of each donut in the chocolate glaze, add some sprinkles on top and enjoy!</p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Substitutes and Variations</h2>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Flour</strong>. As you know, the main flour in the recipe is oat flour. I do not recommend substituting another type of flour. Feel free to use store bought oat flour or finely ground homemade oat flour! This is a really <strong><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Anthonys-Organic-Gluten-Irradiated-Finely/dp/B0898N89VV/ref=sxts_rp_s1_0?cv_ct_cx=anthonys+oat+flour&amp;keywords=anthonys+oat+flour&amp;pd_rd_i=B0898N89VV&amp;pd_rd_r=7aaa4064-8b19-4c9c-9cf3-f1b6d977a7fa&amp;pd_rd_w=F8Jnt&amp;pd_rd_wg=EJ5gs&amp;pf_rd_p=6dd352dd-2180-4fb8-a818-63c42d6c6824&amp;pf_rd_r=GA9RKM69RKQRCEN96A92&amp;psc=1&amp;qid=1636385030&amp;sr=1-1-5e1b2986-06e6-4004-a85e-73bfa3ee44fe">great oat flour from Amazon</a>.</strong> </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Baking fat</strong>. For this recipe you can use melted butter or any light oil. Some oils that work well are light olive oil, canola oil and refined coconut oil.</p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Sugar.</strong> For this recipe feel free to use regular white sugar or coconut sugar.</p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Toppings</strong>. Top these easy donuts with rainbow sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, crumbled cookies, or enjoy them plain!</p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Expert tips!</h2>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Use room temperature ingredients. </strong>This helps all the ingredients bind together nicely. If you&#8217;re using butter as the baking fat, this step is key. Otherwise the butter will solidify if it&#8217;s mixed with cold ingredients. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Use fine oat flour.</strong> As noted before, make sure you use fine oat flour. If your oat flour is too grainy it will mess with the integrity of this recipe. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Let donuts cool in the pan. </strong>This step is key! Make sure you let the donuts cool in the pan for at least 10-15 minutes. Otherwise they will crumble and not hold their shape. After the cooling time, simply pop them out of the pan using a butter knife or your fingers. </p>
