<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to measure flour</h2>



<p class="has-large-font-size">Measuring flour for baking can be a little tricky. We don&#8217;t want to use too much or that will result in dry baked goods. And we don&#8217;t want to use too little. So how can be get the right amount? Well, keep reading because I&#8217;ve got you covered! </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size">Since flour can become packed down inside the bag or your storage jar, it&#8217;s always a good idea to fluff it up before measuring. Using a fork or butter knife, simply fluff it up and move it around. You don&#8217;t want to scoop packed flour as you will end up using too much flour and it will result in dry baked goods. </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size">After you fluff the flour, gently scoop it into your measuring cup. Level it off with a knife to get an even scoop. And that&#8217;s it!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Variations and substitutes</h2>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Flour</strong>. This recipe calls for white whole wheat flour. Feel free to use white flour instead. Just make sure you use the measure the flour correctly (I have outlined how to measure flour above!)</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Coconut oil</strong> is the baking fat in this recipe. Feel free to use melted butter, or another light oil of choice </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Raisins</strong>. If you don&#8217;t like raisins simply omit them from this recipe. Raisins do add bites of sweetness so I recommend adding in chocolate chips instead. </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Maple syrup</strong> is the all natural sweetener we are working with. Feel free to use honey instead!</p>

<p class="has-large-font-size">If these muffins aren&#8217;t consumed in one sitting (lol!) store them in an airtight container. </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size">They can be stored in the fridge for a week or in the freezer for 3 months. If you are storing them in the freezer, make sure you store them in a freezer friendly container. To reheat the muffins, simply defrost them at room temperature or heat them up in the microwave. </p>

To make your own, simply blend oats in a high speed blender until very finely ground. </p>

<p class="has-large-font-size">These oat flour muffins are very easy to make. They just require a few simple steps! I have outlined all the steps below.</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Firstly,</strong> <strong>preheat your oven to 350 degrees</strong>. Grease your muffin tin with cooking spray or line them with baking cups. </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Secondly, make your crumble topping</strong> by combining the <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Watkins-Original-Gourmet-Vanilla-Packaging/dp/B0046EJ570/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&amp;keywords=vanilla+extract&amp;qid=1628620788&amp;s=grocery&amp;sr=1-4">oat flour</a>, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Madhava-Organic-Coconut-Sugar-Pound/dp/B00BBDJJL6/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&amp;keywords=coconut+sugar&amp;qid=1628278545&amp;s=grocery&amp;sr=1-4">coconut sugar</a>, and cinnamon in a small bowl.</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Thirdly,</strong> <strong>combine all your dry ingredients</strong> in a medium bowl: o<em>at flour, cinnamon, baking powder and baking soda.</em> Mix and set aside.</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Next, add all the wet ingredients</strong> <strong>in a large bowl</strong>: whisk together the eggs, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/BetterBody-Foods-Organic-Naturally-Refined/dp/B00U1RKGOW/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&amp;keywords=coconut+oil&amp;qid=1628278625&amp;s=grocery&amp;sr=1-6">coconut oil</a> (or applesauce), almond milk and <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Butternut-Mountain-Farm-Vermont-Natural/dp/B002483SRI/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&amp;keywords=maple+syrup&amp;qid=1628278582&amp;s=grocery&amp;sr=1-4">maple syrup</a> until combined and smooth.</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Now,</strong> <strong>pour the dry ingredients into the bowl with the wet ingredients.</strong> Fold until combined. </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Finally, fill up 12 muffin tins with the batter and top each muffin with the crumble topping. </strong></p>
