<p class="has-large-font-size">You will need the 8 below ingredients to whip up these oat flour chocolate chip cookies!</p>

<li><strong>White sugar</strong>, <em>or coconut sugar</em> can be used to sweeten these cookies</li>
</ul>



<ul class="has-large-font-size wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Butter</strong> is the baking fat. Feel free to use coconut oil as well.</li>
</ul>



<ul class="has-large-font-size wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Egg</strong> acts the binding agents and holds all the ingredients together.</li>
</ul>



<ul class="has-large-font-size wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Vanilla</strong> <strong>extract</strong> really helps enhance the flavors. </li>
</ul>



<ul class="has-large-font-size wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Oat flour</strong> is the main flour ingredient. </li>
</ul>



<ul class="has-large-font-size wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Baking soda</strong> is the leavening agent.</li>
</ul>

<li>Just a pinch of <strong>salt</strong> to enhance the flavors.</li>

<li>Lastly, <strong>chocolate chips</strong> are a must!</li>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="how-to-make-this-recipe">How to make this recipe</h2>



<p class="has-large-font-size">Making cookies should be an enjoyable process. That&#8217;s why I have outlined below how to make these easy chocolate chip cookies. </p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>STEP 1</strong></p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Whisk the butter and sugar</strong> in a large bowl until fully combined. Then <strong>add in egg and vanilla.</strong> Continue to mix or whisk until very smooth</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>STEP 2</strong></p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Add the dry ingredients</strong>: oat flour, baking soda and salt into the wet mixture. Fold until combined and then fold in the chocolate chips.</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>STEP 3</strong></p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Chill for the dough in the fridge for 1-2 hours.</strong></p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>STEP 4</strong></p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Preheat your oven to 350 degrees</strong>. And line two baking sheets with parchment paper.</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>STEP 5</strong></p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>Roll 18 cookie dough balls</strong> and place them on two baking sheets lined with parchment paper. <strong>Bake at 350</strong> for 12-15 minutes and <strong>enjoy!</strong></p>

<p class="has-large-font-size">If you haven&#8217;t baked with oat flour before, it&#8217;s pretty simple! It replaces regular flour in baked goods but, it is not a 1:1 replacement. So you have to be mindful when it comes to new recipes! Oat flour is much lighter in weight than traditional flour. So, you typically have to use more oat flour than regular flour if you&#8217;re replacing it in a recipe.</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size">As for the baking results with oat flour, it produces really nicely textured baked goods. Another added benefit of oats is that they are loaded with whole grains, fiber and complex carbs!</p>

<p class="has-large-font-size">Making oat flour is super easy! Grab your oats and a high speed blender. Add the oats into the blender and pulse/blend until very smooth. You want to make sure it resembles a flour-like texture when it&#8217;s done. This will ensure your baked goods have great results! Grainy oat flour can result in bad textured baked goods.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to make the best vegan cookies</h2>



<p><strong>Firstly, grab a large bowl</strong> and add in all the wet ingredients: <em>maple syrup, coconut sugar, coconut oil, almond milk and vanilla. </em>Whisk together until smooth. </p>



<p><strong>Secondly, will add in the dry ingredients:</strong> <em>white whole wheat flour, baking soda and salt. </em>Then fold in the chocolate chips. </p>



<p><strong>Thirdly, place the bowl in the fridge to chill batter for 1 hour or more.</strong> Don&#8217;t skip this step!</p>



<p><strong>Lastly, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. </strong>Scoop 24 cookies onto two baking sheets and bake for 10-14 minutes. Enjoy!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dairy free chocolate chip cookies</h2>



<p>These cookies can be made dairy free with a few simple substitutes. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies</h2>



<p style="font-size:16px">These cookies are chewy with nutty and toasty notes of almond butter. I use to be a peanut butter or nothing type of girl but almond butter is really growing on me! I love how it can be used to replace butter and different types of oil in baked goods.</p>



<p style="font-size:16px">In addition to almond butter, these cookies are loaded with chocolate chips. I personally love using <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BNQFZCI/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=braesbites20-20&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B00BNQFZCI&amp;linkId=a0c266014a45f9d04ec2311670fee29a">enjoy life dairy free chocolate chips</a>. But feel free to use any chocolate chips you prefer. You can also add in walnuts to give these cookies a crunch but feel free to use other mix in&#8217;s like nuts and raisins.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What kind of almond butter can I use?</h2>



<p style="font-size:16px">For this recipe I used a natural almond butter! Natural almond butter tends to be very oily and can have a layer of oil on top when you first open the jar. Make sure you stir to give it a really good stir before using! You can also use other types of nut butter for this recipe like peanut butter or even sunflower seed butter.</p>
